So, what kind of jobs can you find on these luxurious boats? Let’s have a look at the main selection. Most superyachts have got four departments you can choose to work in, each offering its own career path and incentives, and requiring different skillsets, experience and training.
Most positions offered in this department are of the Steward/Stewardess. They are responsible for service and housekeeping. You will also have most interactions with the billionaire guests onboard.
Depending on the size of the yacht you will either be responsible for the whole spectrum of jobs or you will be working in a team with all the duties divided according to the rank.
Previous hotel, waiting staff or any other customer service experience is helpful, but even without it you can still work as a stewardess. In this case you might consider completing a course for a yacht stewardess to increase your chances of getting a job and make it easier for yourself when you start working on a yacht.

However, if you love cooking and you are confident in your skill but you don’t have any formal training in these area, you can also look for a cook job on a yacht. As in the case of all other jobs onboard, you might be working as a sole deckhand performing all these duties or in a team being responsible only for a part of them.
Sailing skills are obviously extremely beneficial in this position, however, not crucial at the beginning of your career. If you can’t sail, you can still find a job on deck and get all the necessary qualifications between the jobs.
